Deb Gerard: An Introduction
Deb Gerard is a motivational speaker and former educational consultant. She loves to talk and figures she uses her mouth so much she might as well get paid for it! Her jobs have given her great variety. She loves what she does because it combines her two favorite things – people and talking!!
Deb has been married since 1970. Her hubby, Gerry, is a retired school district administrator and her best human friend. She has two grown sons. Daniel is married, and serves on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ on the UW-Madison campus in Madison, WI. John-David, is married and currently runs his own construction business in Wausau, WI where he is very active in his church. She has 2 grandsons, one granddaughter and another grandbaby on the way.
The main purpose in speaking, from Deb’s perspective, is to make a difference in the lives of her listeners so they leave different and, in turn, go out and make a difference in their worlds one person at a time.
Deb grew up on a small farm in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She married her high school sweetheart, graduated from Northern Michigan University and spent six years as a physical education teacher and gymnastics/cross country/track coach.
She put a career on hold to raise a family. In the early 1990′s, Deb began working as an educational consultant. She began speaking many years ago, but only became serious about it following a motorcycle accident in August of 1998.
She has always been a physically active person. Deb participated in sports throughout high school and was a long distance runner for many years as an adult, until a pick-up basketball game resulted in knee reconstruction. She still runs a bit, plays tennis and walks with a vengeance! She loves the great outdoors and enjoys animals of all kinds (with the exception of reptiles!).
Deb sees herself as a friendly, outgoing and caring person who loves a good laugh! She has no shy bones and turns a party into an opportunity to make new friends. She is serious about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, wants to glorify God in all she does, and is very active in her church.
