Am I Making a Difference?
10-4-10 I was challenged tonight as I read a message from a dear brother in the LORD, Dr. Perry, the head of the Great Lakes Baptist Conference. In his monthly article, he challenged his readers with the question, “If I die tomorrow, what difference would it make?’ As those who read my blog, look at my website or hear me speak know, my business is entitled “Life: What a Great Experience” with the subtitle “Making a Difference One Person at a Time”. Dr. Perry’s article was most timely as I had found myself thinking just this very afternoon about whether I was really making a difference or if I was wasting time and just treading water! There are days that go by-days that turn into weeks-and I find myself wondering if I did anything that mattered, that really made a difference, anywhere or for anyone! Now, I suppose I could wallow in a bit of self pity right about now or start a blame game going. I could take on a victim attitude or come up with any number of excuses. I am not going to go in that direction, however. I am choosing a different response. I will accept the challenge and renew my commitment to do what I have intended to do-to make a difference one person at a time. Who knows, maybe I will get the opportunity to start with you!
